WHO WE ARE
The Inner West Shiurim Association (IWS) was established in mid-2019 to bring Sydney's inner west Jewish community together. We provide Jewish kids with opportunities to connect with their peers in Sydney's inner west and to explore Jewish identity, culture, history and religion.
We are a parent-run, progressive and inclusive not-for-profit association.
Our education program is delivered in partnership with Emanuel Synagogue. The program teaches key Jewish concepts and language, and explores what it means to be Jewish in the unique Inner West context. The curriculum uses the annual festival cycle and relates Jewish ethics and stories to contemporary life.
We are grateful to have received financial support from the Millie Phillips Jewish Education Fund.
We have also received support from the Inner West Chavorah, enabling us to subsidise our tuition fees for families who require financial assistance.
We are also supported by the Board of Progressive Jewish Education.
